About the Tournament
The pickleball tournament aims to bring together our community from the Cape Fear Region for a day of fun and friendly competition, all while supporting a crucial cause. The funds raised will go directly to the Hospital in Rotifunk, Sierra Leone. This hospital has been instrumental in reducing maternal and child mortality rates, providing essential medical services, and improving community healthcare through various initiatives.
Mission of the Hospital
Mission of Hope (MOH) was started by the Wrightsville United Methodist Church following a visit from Bishop John Yambasu of Sierra Leone in 2013.
MOH is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting the hospital in Rotifunk, Sierra Leone.
For nearly 10 years, with the Grace of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior we have been raising money to support the hospital’s mission and goals, which include:
- Substantially reducing maternal, newborn, and childhood mortality rates.
- Maintaining a sustainable source of clean water and power for the hospital.
- Equipping the hospital to provide needed medical services.
- Hiring, training, and maintaining the required hospital staff.
- Implementing health and education programs that build support for the hospital and make it self-sustainable.
