This spring has brought exciting progress to the Ocean View UMC Creation Care Team’s environmental stewardship efforts. Our rain barrel is now fully operational, helping us conserve water and care for our gardens responsibly. The newly installed irrigation system is keeping plants healthy during the warmer months, while our non-toxic, vinegar-based weed control is proving an effective, earth-friendly alternative to chemical herbicides.

Perhaps most exciting of all, our first batch of homemade compost has been added to the new Butterfly Garden, where it is already helping nourish an abundance of colorful blooms. The garden is thriving and attracting a growing number of bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, creating a vibrant habitat that celebrates God’s creation.
The Creation Care Team has enjoyed seeing the fruits of its labor as flowers flourish and pollinators gather throughout the garden. These projects not only beautify our church grounds but also demonstrate our commitment to caring for the earth and serving as faithful stewards of God’s gifts.
We are grateful for the dedication of our volunteers and for the many blessings God has provided through this ministry. As the garden continues to grow, we look forward to welcoming even more pollinators—and people—to enjoy this beautiful space.
