Dear Beautiful Harbor District People:
Grace and peace to you. As we enter into the season of Lent with Ash Wednesday this week, it is a time to repent and reflect, a time to receive and respond. We look inward, often focusing on self-denial. We open the Lenten season by going into the wilderness with Jesus in our reading.
After a pandemic season that has been one of great uncertainty and time of loss already, this season may need to feel different for you. I pray you will consider ways to connect as you are able. I encourage you to “add a discipline” of conversation with a friend in person or connecting with a colleague as you preach and plan worship through this season. Join me for Lenten Morning Prayer via zoom on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a simple way to start your day with others.
I have invited Rev. Russ Nanney to share a devotion this week as we begin this season together. Russ is married to Lindsay and is the father of Boone; he is the pastor of Harbor UMC in Wilmington. Thank you, Russ!
